Yeggie Dearborn holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology) from the University of California in Santa Barbara and a Bachelor of Arts in Microbiology from the University of California in Berkeley. She has over 25 years of experience in the laboratory industry in the areas of chemistry and microbiology ranging from project management to research and development. In 2005, she established Cel Analytical Inc. (Cel-A), a California ELAP-certified environmental laboratory in San Francisco (ELAP 2647) specializing in the analysis of pathogens in water, wastewater, and sludge.
Recent project experience includes serving as the lead laboratory for the DPR-2 pathogen monitoring in raw wastewater campaign (including SARS-CoV-2 analysis) –In addition to analyzing 55 raw wastewater samples, Cel-A under her direction helped write the QAPP, reviewing the data from the other labs for quality control, and supply reagents to the other labs. Cel-A participated in many inter-laboratory projects, including the EPA LT2 EWSTR monitoring for Cryptosporidium and Giardia and the UCMR3 Pre-screening survey for Viruses, Bacteriophages, and Indicators Bacteria.
